Join Life Itself: Social Media & Content Producer
We're hiring a reliable, self-organised social media and content producer. Remote contract, 4+ days a week. Apply by Friday 9 October 2026.
Help a small nonprofit share big ideas about how we can live better, together. Remote, 4+ days a week, starting as soon as possible.
We're looking for a reliable, self-organised social media and content producer to keep our channels running every week, promote our events, and turn our podcast episodes, talks and events into content people want to watch.
Engagement type: Contract, ongoing and long-term
Hours: At least 4 days a week (32+ hours); full-time preferred
Location: Remote. You'll need substantial overlap with 11:00–17:00 Central European Time (CET/CEST). We'll agree the exact pattern together, and you don't need to be available for the whole window every day.
Compensation: USD 12.50–25.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience
Start date: As soon as possible
Apply by: Friday 9 October 2026 (a soft deadline: we'll review applications as they arrive, and strong late applications are still welcome)
About Life Itself
Life Itself is an international nonprofit working towards a wiser, weller world. We bridge inner transformation and social change through research, community hubs in Europe, and events, bringing philosophy, spirituality and practical experimentation into the same conversation.
Our podcast, Over the Mountains, and our events are among the main ways people discover this work. We'd love someone who cares about getting these ideas in front of the people who need them.
Who this is for
This role would suit someone who has already run social media channels or a content workflow, enjoys getting the details right, and wants more ownership and room to grow.
What you'll do
Social media (around 40%)
- Turn episodes, events and news into posts and short clips using our Canva templates
- Promote our events on social media, before and after they happen
- Write and adapt captions for each channel, working from templates and AI drafts
- Schedule and publish 5–10 posts a week, focusing on YouTube and Instagram, plus LinkedIn, X and Facebook
- Help us choose and set up a scheduling tool (we don't have one yet)
Content and podcast production (around 40%)
- Oversee recordings in Riverside and make sure sessions are set up and captured properly
- Do light editing and cleanup, mainly with Riverside's built-in tools
- Prepare titles, show notes and thumbnails from our templates, with AI help
- Publish each episode to our podcast feed and YouTube. We release 2–3 episodes a month now and would like to release more.
- Help produce other content, such as event recordings, talks and short videos
You'll handle routine edits and template-based visuals yourself, and work with our video and graphic designers when something needs more substantial editing or bespoke graphics.
Newsletters and community (around 20%)
- Help with newsletters: prepare content, check formatting and links, and send
- Welcome newcomers in our WhatsApp groups and route questions to the right person
- Keep contact records and mailing lists tidy in our CRM
Throughout: use AI tools for transcripts, clip selection and first drafts, check their output for accuracy and tone, and suggest improvements to our workflow.
Success means episodes and posts go out on an agreed schedule, with clear progress updates and issues flagged early.
Why join us?
We're a small, curious and experimental team, and your work will be seen and valued. We're self-organising: we trust each other to get the work done and give people real ownership over how they do it.
You'll work closely with our fractional CMO, the people developing these ideas, and the creative colleagues who help bring them to life. Your editorial judgment matters from the start, whether that's choosing a compelling clip, finding the right title, or suggesting a better way to tell a story. As you settle in, you can experiment with new formats and take on more of our communications.
If you bring more strategic communications experience, such as planning campaigns, shaping narrative or leading channels, tell us. The role starts hands-on, but we're open to it growing into owning more of our communications strategy, and we'll pay accordingly.
You're likely a fit if
- You've run social media channels or taken content from draft to published independently. Examples from personal projects are welcome.
- You're organised, follow through reliably, and flag problems early.
- You enjoy trying new AI tools and have a view on what works.
- You're comfortable with Canva and YouTube. Experience with Riverside, Descript or a social media scheduler is a plus.
- You write clear, natural English, spot a compelling angle, and produce accurate, engaging copy without distorting the original ideas.
- You're curious about what we do. Curiosity counts more than credentials.
How to apply
Email [email protected] by Friday 9 October 2026 with the subject line "Social Media & Content Producer Application" and include:
- Your CV.
- A short video walkthrough (required, 2–3 minutes, Loom or similar). Show us one to three things you've edited, produced or published. Pick your best work rather than the most work, and say what you did yourself. If you'd like, use the video to introduce yourself and say why you're interested. It can stand in for a cover letter.
- A short cover letter (optional if your video covers it). A few lines on why this role and why Life Itself.
- The AI tools you've used and how you used them.
- Bonus: Pick an episode of Over the Mountains and walk us through how you'd take it from recording to published. Include one social post or clip you'd make from it, and the AI tools you'd use along the way.
Applications without the video walkthrough won't be considered. We'll review applications as they arrive and aim to reply to everyone. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to do a short paid test task.
If you don't hear back from us within a week, please send a gentle follow-up. Emails sometimes land in spam!
